Design for All

Design for All Partnership is an annual seed program, supporting community-driven partners through design.
Michael Hsu Office of Architecture is seeking a nonprofit partner in Austin or Houston that demonstrates a need for design services. Our goal is to provide architectural and interior design solutions that are realistic and affordable, and that directly support the organization’s mission.
Our firm will establish beneficial relationships between the design industry and our selected non-profit partner through research, charettes, and collaborations.

2024 Application
The Award
If your proposal is selected for this partnership, MHOA will develop a custom marketing package to suit your needs. The partnership award is $20,000 in pro-bono design and consultation services. Services may include visioning, site analysis, feasibility studies, master planning, site planning, conceptual design, architectural and interior design consultation.
Example Deliverables*
- An analysis of the potential building or site
- Preliminary site and floor plan(s)
- One architectural rendering
- Pricing narrative
- Proposal for continuing design services and schedule
* Deliverables can be adjusted based on project needs.
Eligibility
- Must be registered 501c3
- Located within a 50-mile radius of the Austin or Houston metropolitan area
- Master Planning projects should be 50 acres or less
- Architecture and Interior Design projects should be less than 20,000 sf
Exclusions
- Hazardous materials and mitigation
- Single-family residences
2024 Schedule
- Call for Entries – March 4th
- Questions due – April 5th
- Q&A posted on website – April 26th
- Submission Deadline – May 3rd at 5:00 pm CST
- Shortlist Interviews – June 3-7
- Partnership announced – June 14th
